Sirgo Ventures is proud to announce its recent donation to Student Energy through our affiliation with Step3Project. We are excited to be a part of this innovative project which aims to develop and fully fund a renewable energy installation at the Shames Mountain Ski Hill, located west of Terrace, BC.
As of now, the Ski Hill is completely reliant on diesel generators for power. This project aims to change that by allowing the on-site caretaker and baseline operations equipment to maintain power while the main generators used to run the lifts are turned off. The plan is to replace the usage of a smaller generator for power with solar equipment and a battery bank. This infrastructure is projected to reduce diesel usage at the Hill to the tune of annual savings eclipsing 4 tonnes of green house gas emissions and more than $2,000.
